Here are some helpful things to get you started this year!
Contact Information
Casey Jones, Band and Orchestra Director: cjones@wscuhsd.org for grades, or music-specific inquiries.
Janis Snyder, Program Coordinator jsnyder@wscuhsd.org or coordinator@analybandwagon.org for instruments, uniforms, and all other program related questions.
Please note, we have new district emails this year!
►ABO News
Analy Bands and Orchestra News (ABO News), an announcement list similar to the Analy News, is our main source of communication. You can subscribe on the For Parents page. ABO News will provide you with essential information about upcoming events, deadlines, news, fundraisers, etc.
►Parent Meeting
Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at 7:00pm, is our annual meeting for all Band, Orchestra and Instrumental Music parents. This year we will hold our meeting via Zoom. For privacy reasons, all current parents/guardians will receive an email from Mr. Jones with the Zoom link the day before the meeting.
It is very important that all parents and guardians attend this meeting.
►Instrument Drive-by Pickup
On Wednesday, August 26, 2020, we will distribute or exchange instruments in a similar fashion to AHS’ drive-by registration. If your student needs to borrow, exchange or return a school instrument, please SignUp for a time slot. More information coming soon on ABO News.
►Sourcebook/Syllabus
On August 19th, your students will receive the Sourcebook/Syllabus for their class. All of the class expectations are explained in this document. Please read through, then print out the first page of this document. Both the student and a parent/guardian will need to fill out the form, sign it and submit it to Mr. Jones by Tuesday, August 25th @3pm. Students will receive participation credit for turning in the signature page of the Soucebook/Syllabus.
Website
Check out our website’s new look! A huge thank you to Bridget McKenna for working so hard to make this happen! And a massive thank you to Gerry Blue for running our previous website for many years past his children graduating from AHS!
We have a For Parents page that has everything you need throughout the year – including a calendar of events. And if you can’t find that important ABO News email, check back here - the Announcements page - for the Coordinator’s Blog.

Want to know what your students should be doing for Band, Orchestra or Instrumental Music class? You can email Janis or Jones to request a parent code to see the assignments!
Remind App
We ask all students to sign up for the Remind App on their smartphones or mobile devices. We can send reminders and get instant feedback. Parents can sign up to receive information as well. Students can also message each other for questions or collaboration. If you have any questions or concerns about the Remind App, please email us.
Analy Band Wagon
The Analy Band Wagon (ABW) is a nonprofit organization, consisting of parents working to enhance the Analy Band and Orchestra Program. We have vacancies for the Board and volunteer positions for fundraising. Please contact Michael Ost, ABW President, at president@analybandwagon.org if you are interested. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month. ABW is a great way for parents to help with our program. We always welcome new and returning parents to this group.
Donations
We need your help more than ever! Family Contributions help keep our program running, but are especially important this year as our fundraisers and performances will be severely affected by the coronavirus.
We ask all families to donate $175 at the beginning of the year. If you are unable to make a $175 donation all at once, you can set up a payment plan on the Support Analy Music page or pay any amount, at any time. This donation helps cover the expenses of: instrument and equipment replacement and repairs, music, uniforms, administrative assistance, transportation, photocopy, supplies, etc.
Please note that we only receive about $10 per student from the district, which cannot begin to cover the expenses of our program.
Uniforms
Uniforms are required for all live performances. The main uniform items are loaned to students by the Analy Band Wagon. Depending on the performance or ensemble, there is a short list of items that students and their families will need to provide.
When we get close to potential performance dates, we will provide more information on uniforms. For more information, please contact Janis jsnyder@wscuhsd.org.
We look forward to seeing you at the Parent Meeting -- Aug 25th!
