Festival Date: November 6, 2021
We are excited to announce that we will be holding a one-day Fall Festival on November 6, 2021. At this Festival, local school music programs will have an opportunity to perform in front of our guest adjudicators, receive feedback, and participate in a teaching session with them. This great fundraiser serves a dual purpose of providing funds for our program while also serving as an education opportunity for local music students. The success of our day depends on parent volunteers. We will be sending a sign-up link soon for event day volunteers. In the meantime, we are looking to fill a few key volunteer positions that require a modest amount of help ahead of the event, namely: 1. Volunteer Coordinator: sets up the signup.com ahead of time (you can copy from previous years with adjustments from Carmen and Janis). Create emails for Janis to send out, and email parents directly, to encourage signing up for spots. On the day of the event, check in parent and student volunteers and give them assignments. 2. Audio Recordings Manager: take the audio files from the hand recorders used by the judges, download them to the computer, keep those audio files organized by ensembles, wipe the hand recorder memory, and set up for the next recording. This person needs to be detail oriented and have a fair amount of computer knowledge. Some advance preparation will be needed. 3. Snack Booth Prep: We have two veteran volunteers who are preparing the snack booth for the Fall Festival. Next year they will be moving on, so we need one or two volunteers to shadow them and help as needed with advance prep.
