CMEA Results

This past Saturday April 27th, the Analy Symphonic Band and Orchestra attended the California Music Educators Association Festival in Benicia. The CMEA Festival is an adjudicated, large-ensemble festival where each ensemble is judged on performing three pieces and a sight-reading selection.

The Analy Symphonic Band, the flagship concert band of Analy High School, scored a “Unanimous Superior” ranking (Four Superior markings for our performance and sight-reading).  This is the highest possible score – a rare and prestigious honor!  The last time the Analy Honor Band received a Unanimous Superior rating was in 2012.  This is Maestro Kevin Stewart’s first Unanimous Superior rating as a music educator and he is so very proud of the Symphonic Band!

The Analy Orchestra performed three very challenging pieces at the Festival and received three Excellent’s and a Superior rating.  The Orchestra performed very well and Maestro is extremely pleased with this outcome!

Congratulations to Maestro Kevin Stewart and all of the students who performed at the CMEA’s!  All of the Symphonic Band students are eligible for a ribbon and pin commemorating this accomplishment.  For questions about purchasing the ribbon and pin, please contact Janis Snyder, Program Coordinator, (707) 824-2337 or coordinator@analybandwagon.org.
