All Bands & Orchestra – 2019 Spring Break Overnight

2019 Spring Break Overnight

Alliance Redwoods has generously donated an Overnight Fun Trip to the Analy Bands & Orchestra (for all Instrumental Music students).  The date is set for Sunday, March 17th through Monday, March 18th, 2019, the first weekend of Spring Break.  There will be no organized performances and no uniforms, just fun and bonding with our fellow music students!

Alliance Redwoods is a youth and adult conference center located on Bohemian Highway between Occidental and Monte Rio.  It is used for educational school groups and corporate team building/conferences.

We are very fortunate that the use of their grounds, meals, and lodging are all included. To keep the cost of the trip free to all students, we will have parents/guardians drop off and pick up directly at Alliance Redwoods.  We are working out the details with the school district, but potential activities include: Ropes Courses, Giant Swings, Indoor/Outdoor Rock climbing, Basketball and Volleyball courts, Pool table, ping pong, hiking/nature walks, campfire, and talent show (stage) performances.  The swimming pool will be closed in March.

Sonoma Canopy Tours (zip lines) is also on the Alliance Redwoods property.  If we get District approval, this will be an optional low-cost activity for our students at an extraordinary discount, approx. 75% off of a 2.5-hour zipline tour ($185 value).

All the details will be coming soon!

What we need you to do now:

  1. Save the Date! Sunday, March 17 & Monday, March 18, 2019.
This leaves an entire week for other Spring Break activities with your family.
  2. Get fingerprinted for overnight chaperoning with the School District.
Yes, parents, you can enjoy a relaxing (or exciting) overnight in the Redwoods too!  We need about 10 parents to be fingerprinted.  Visit the District Office during business hours for the paperwork.  The cost for fingerprinting is about $60.  Please let Janis know ASAP if you are interested in chaperoning.

The kids were very enthusiastic about this trip, over 90% of the hands went up when asked about going on the trip.  We are so appreciative of Alliance Redwoods for donating this trip and of Patrick Stanley, our band parent, for organizing!  We hope every student can attend!
